South Korean technology giant Samsung introduced the new version of its round robot friend Ballie, designed to monitor its owner’s home. According to the official, the presentation took place at CES 2024, the annual consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, USA. Web site SAMSUNG.
The Ballie droid has three wheels and navigates through space using cameras and laser radar. It can be used to control smart home functions such as lighting, air conditioning and heating.
The device can also patrol the area, transmit photos to its owner, and stream video from the camera via an app on the smartphone. The robot is controlled using text commands or voice.
Unlike the first version shown in 2020, the new Ballie is equipped with a projector that can project images onto walls and ceilings. It is used to make video calls in the promotional video.
Samsung said that the new product is equipped with artificial intelligence, which allows it to learn and better fulfill the owner’s requirements. The company has promised to make Ballie available by the end of 2024.
