The American company SpaceX lost the first stage of its reusable Falcon 9 rocket with serial number B1058. The device made a record 19 launches and returns to Earth, but was almost completely destroyed when it fell during transport. John Edwards, SpaceX’s VP of the Falcon program, published a post about X promising to repair the Merlin rocket engines that survived the crash. According to him, the company will not let the device go to waste.

SpaceX noted that B1058 launched two astronauts and more than 860 satellites with a total weight of approximately 260 tons into orbit in 3.5 years.
