Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, which were previously banned by the US International Trade Commission (ITC), have started selling the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 at select Apple retail stores in the US. In some stores, Apple Watch models will be available on December 28, while the windows of other sales points will be filled on December 30. Online sales of the devices will resume on December 29.
Apple started selling the Apple Watch models in question after the US Court of Appeals temporarily lifted the ITC ban. MacRumors believes Apple will be able to sell Watches for most of January and possibly longer.
The sales ban was suspended pending review of the ITC decision by the US Court of Appeals. The procedure may take several months.
To comply with the ITC decision, Apple suspended online sales of Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 on December 21 and offline sales on December 24. The ITC banned the sale of the Apple Watch in the United States on the grounds that it violated healthcare company Masimo’s patents related to blood oxygen monitoring technology.
