The vast majority of Russian IT professionals complained of burnout

In December 2023, 96% of 2 thousand IT professionals in Russia showed signs of burnout. In this respect reports Vedomosti publication cites the results of a survey conducted by Habr Career together with the HR platform Beehive.

The survey also found that 44% of respondents were in the late and most dangerous stage of burnout when they took the survey. At the same time, only 21% of IT workers who experienced burnout experienced a decrease in work productivity.

“They suffer, but they endure,” writes Vedomosti.

HR experts say that as fatigue increases, people begin to show obvious signs of burnout. For example, Anastasia Egorova, head of Get Progress studio, claims that an introvert can start joking and having fun, but an extrovert, on the contrary, suddenly withdraws and works all day.

“Employees burn like a candle; at first they burn and flare up before going out,” added Yulia Tishchenko, an expert at the Beehive HR platform.
