An international team of scientists from South Korea and the United States has presented technology that can amplify electromagnetic waves in the terahertz range tens of thousands of times. When combined with artificial intelligence (AI) tools, this discovery could lead to a breakthrough in data transfer over the promising 6G standard. The study was published in the scientific journal magazine Nano Letters.

Engineers used machine learning and physics theoretical modeling to design terahertz nanoresonators using regular personal computers. According to experts, before the introduction of artificial intelligence, such calculations were very time-consuming even on supercomputers, while neural networks could optimize the device in less than 40 hours.

The electric field generated by nanocavities exceeded conventional electromagnetic waves by more than 30 thousand times. Scientists stated that this will make 6G communications 300 times more efficient compared to existing technologies.

The researchers believe that their discovery will not only improve wireless communications but also help develop ultrasensitive detectors and sensors for scientific research.

Previously at Apple approached To transfer powerful AI from data centers to smartphones and other portable equipment.
