The future version of Google’s mobile operating system Android 14 will add a function to check battery status. It will show the remaining capacity of the battery, which decreases with use. This was reported by oppression Android Authority (AA).
A new hidden feature was discovered by Android Authority reviewer Mishaal Rahman, who reviewed the Android 14 QPR2 beta version. While the option doesn’t yet include a real-life battery status indicator, the code suggests it can display things like “an estimated percentage of the battery’s charge compared to its capacity at the beginning of use.”
The expert also found symbols indicating low battery capacity and no battery. Accordingly, messages regarding changes in battery status, such as decreasing battery capacity, will also appear in the Settings application.
In December 2023, Google announced the addition of mobile device battery data in the new version of Android. They will show the battery’s manufacturing date and number of cycles.
