Irtea company, owned by MTS operator, will produce domestic 5G and 4G base stations in 2024. In this respect reports The publication Kommersant (Kommersant) refers to the words of Irtea General Director Dmitry Lakontsev.
Lakontsev said that production will be established at the facilities of the Tomsk Mikran plant. The company hopes to launch the first batch of 1,000 devices in 2024. It will include base stations in both 4G and 5G standards. The company plans to reach the target of 5-10 thousand products per year in the future. Equipment tests will begin in Moscow and the Moscow region in the first half of 2024.
According to Kommersant, today the share of domestic components in Irteya base stations does not exceed 10 percent. However, the company assured that its share will increase over time.
According to independent experts, the cost of an Irtei base station ranges from 1.5 to 2 million rubles, which is an “adequate price”. Foreign analogues of Nokia, Ericsson and Huawei are comparable.
