AirPower is a wireless multi-charger in oval matte form. Designed to charge three devices simultaneously. The gadget was announced on September 12, 2017. The launch of the new product was initially planned for early 2018, but it did not happen. Later on March 29, 2019, Apple announced the cancellation of AirPower. As it turned out later, thanks to insiders, the IT giant was not able to achieve the desired efficiency and reliability of the device at the development stage.
The prototype Kosutami received turned out to be fully functional. The video with photos published by an insider shows that the device can charge multiple devices at the same time. In this case, one of the devices can be an Android smartphone.
Although the prototype cannot be called completely serviceable. According to Kosutami, if charging devices are placed unevenly on it, the device overheats significantly. Moreover, the heating can be so strong that the AirPower case melts.
