The base of the iPhone SE 14 could be the case of the iPhone 14. reports The MacRumors post is based on the latest battery data for Apple’s new budget smartphone.
According to MacRumors, the iPhone SE 4, internally codenamed D59, will receive the same A2863 battery used in the production of the base version of the iPhone 14. Journalists claim that Apple is already testing “partially assembled” prototypes of the iPhone 14. iPhone SE 4 with said battery.
If these data remain valid at launch, the iPhone SE 4 will receive a significant increase in autonomy compared to the previous model. For comparison, the iPhone SE 3 used a 2018 mAh battery, while the battery in the iPhone 14 used a 3279 mAh battery.
MacRumors writes that using older components in a new smartphone will lead to cheaper production. That’s good because the iPhone SE series are Apple’s most affordable smartphones for consumers. Moreover, this is not a new practice: Apple previously used the iPhone 8 battery in the iPhone SE 2.
