Kazakh crypto exchange ATAIX Eurasia asked Russian users to close their accounts due to sanctions pressure from the European Union. In this respect reports The Frank Media publication cites a statement from the service.
“In accordance with the sanctions of the European Union, ATAIX Eurasia cannot continue to provide services to Russian citizens, persons living there and legal entities registered in the Russian Federation,” the company said.
The message from ATAIX Eurasia is that Russians should withdraw their assets from their accounts and close them before December 15, 2023. The company said it had made a “difficult decision” and “regrets any inconvenience this may cause.”
ATAIX Eurasia is not the first crypto exchange to refuse service to Russians. In the summer of 2023, the Binance service made a similar decision.
ATAIX Eurasia is the first Kazakh licensed crypto exchange operating under the FinTechLab pilot project.
Previously Russian developers presented Green Button application in Africa.
