Sony has filed a patent for a new DualSense controller with a touch screen and artificial intelligence-based cues for PlayStation 5. In this respect reports Game Rant portal.
According to the patent description, Sony wants to replace the touchpad with a touchscreen that will show players contextual clues. Thanks to the machine learning system, these recommendations will be adapted to what is happening, the difficulty level and the user’s playing style. The purpose of this innovation is to increase gaming skill and pleasure.
So if the player gets stuck at a stage of the game, hints will be displayed on the touch screen to help pass the ball. The patent also includes schematic images of what the new gamepad will look like and hints displayed on the device’s touchscreen.
However, it is worth noting that patent registration does not guarantee the implementation of an idea. It’s possible that Sony is exploring different options for the controller and has no plans to release a similar DualSense any time soon.
