The results of a survey by VK Messenger and VK Education showed that 53% of Russian students communicate with each other daily in educational chats. This was reported in the company’s press release.
95% of students have group chats where they communicate with their classmates. 80% of survey respondents said they contacted them several times a week, with more than half saying they did so every day. 54% of students exchange messages regularly, both day and night.
74% of respondents said they send training files via chat several times a week, and 15% said they do so every day. At the same time, 55% stated that they see the ability to send large volumes of data via chat as an advantage in solving their problems.
Since the beginning of the current academic year, 16 million group chats with students alone have been created on VK Messenger. A quarter of these conversations come from students living in Moscow. Also in the top 5 according to the number of chats is St. Petersburg (12%), Novosibirsk (7%), Chelyabinsk and Yekaterinburg (5% each). Students have sent 274 terabytes of data to VK Messenger chats since the beginning of fall.
The survey was conducted in November 2023. 1,200 students from various Russian universities participated in the competition.
