Contrary to initial rumors, the edges of the screen on the flagship Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will be round, not flat. In this respect reports The PhoneArena post credits an insider from X (Twitter) under the pseudonym SuperRoader.
“The S24 Ultra has curved edges (0.3-0.4 mm). It’s not straight. The thickness of the upper and lower frames is the same. They’re half the size of the S23 Ultra. However, the left and right bezels are the same as the S23 Ultra,” SuperRoader wrote.
PhoneArena writes that although the 0.3-0.4 mm slope of the front panel may not be noticeable to the eye, it will definitely be felt by hand. They also noted that according to the latest data, the base Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus will receive flat screens.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra will be equipped with a new Snapdragon 8 Gen3 for Galaxy processor with custom clock speeds for some cores, as well as a display with curved edges. Other changes include reducing the optical power of the periscope lens from 10x zoom to 5x zoom and increasing the maximum screen brightness to a record level of 2,500 nits.
According to the latest rumors, the next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on January 17, 2024. The South Korean IT giant will introduce new smartphones today.
