Especially with the use of artificial intelligence technologies, the share of social engineering-based hacker attacks will increase by at least 60% in 2024. Evgeny Tsarev, head of information security company RTM Group, told socialbites.ca.
“Such an increase will be associated with the high effectiveness of influence methods and the lack of active measures to train personnel,” the expert said.
RTM Group also expects a general increase in cyber attacks on the infrastructures of Russian organizations. Primarily due to the increase in DDoS attacks, which have increased by approximately 35% every quarter for the last two years.
“This figure will not decrease in 2024. Additionally, additional impact vectors will be added,” Tsarev said.
Hackers’ main targets in 2024 will be the public sector, critical information infrastructure, large personal data collectors and IT. The IT sector is expected to be attacked one-third more frequently in an attempt to undermine domestic software development.
