Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko said at the international conference “Journey to the World of Artificial Intelligence” (AI Journey) that Russia is trying to maintain its leading position in the global artificial intelligence race, which continues to accelerate.

According to him, there are five main global trends in artificial intelligence.

He called the first such trend the desire of states for technological sovereignty in conditions of mutual restriction, in which individual countries block access to their own developments.

“The second is to tighten the personnel struggle. That is why the government is trying to provide the best working conditions for Russian artificial intelligence experts,” Chernyshenko said.

He called the fourth trend the desire of scientific researchers in various technological fields to use increasingly powerful large language models and generative artificial intelligence.

“The fifth trend is the increasing economic impact of the use of artificial intelligence. According to expert estimates, by 2030 the global economy will exceed 15 trillion dollars,” said the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

Chernyshenko emphasized that the transition from the stage of development of artificial intelligence technologies to their practical application has already occurred in many Russian industries.

“The Russian government was one of the first governments in the world to start working on its own platform solutions. As for practical examples of the application of AI in industries, the Russian Federal Tax Service has been using AI for 7 years to sort receipts at cash register terminals by product names; This helps you see the dynamics of consumption and make decisions accordingly. data,” he said.

The AI Journey conference will be held from 22 to 24 November and will be dedicated to advanced developments in the field of artificial intelligence, the role of artificial intelligence in new scientific discoveries, business and social development and popularization among young people.
