Experts from the Rosneft Scientific Institute in Tyumen developed the RN-Lab corporate information system developed to automate laboratory studies of core and formation fluids. This was reported by the press service of the oil company.

As Rosneft explains, thanks to new functions, RN-Lab identifies sedimentary rocks and recognizes various objects in photographs, such as fossil remains of living organisms. The research results are stored by the information system for subsequent training of the computer for automatic identification of the core.

Development of technological potential is one of the key elements of the Rosneft-2030 strategy.

The company emphasizes that Rosneft prioritizes innovation and the use of groundbreaking technological approaches.

The RN-Lab information system is the digital twin of the laboratory, reducing labor costs and increasing the efficiency of laboratory research by 3-5% by automating routine processes. The software modules contain complete information on the processes of examining core and formation fluids. 8 modules have been developed to date.

Rosneft added that the introduction of RN-Lab significantly reduces labor costs for laboratory research, for example, when operating a full-size core, this figure reaches 25%.
