Opal announced the new 48MP Tadpole webcam that can shoot and broadcast video in 4K resolution. The portal reports this 9to5Mac.
The Opal Tadpole has compact dimensions of 30.5 x 30.5 mm and weighs only 45 grams. The company claims that it is the world’s smallest webcam ever produced. It is equipped with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX582 sensor and a six-element f/1.8 lens that delivers clear and bright images. The camera easily attaches to any laptop using the built-in clip, and the braided USB-C cable doubles as a carrying strap.
However, the most important feature of the Opal Tadpole is its artificial intelligence-supported directional microphone, which can distinguish the human voice from background noise and other sounds. The camera only records the sound coming from the object it is pointed at, creating a sound tunnel effect inside the device. The camera also features a Touch to Mute function, which allows you to turn the sound on and off with a single touch while in use.
Opal Tadpole is compatible with both Apple computers and Windows devices. The cost of the Opal Tadpole is 175 dollars (about 15.6 thousand rubles).
