Apple has completely stopped selling macOS installation discs for its computers. The portal reports this MacRumors.
Installation discs for OS These versions of the operating system were released in 2011 and 2012 respectively and were the last versions that could be installed from physical media. Since then, Apple began distributing its operating systems in the form of digital images through the App Store.
The first operating system available exclusively in digital format was OS X Mavericks, released in October 2013. Currently the latest version of Mac OS is macOS Sonoma.
For those who want to install older versions of the operating system on their Mac, Apple offers to download disk images from the company’s official website. To do this, you’ll need your Mac’s serial number. Detailed instructions for creating an installation USB drive or DVD containing an operating system image are available on the company’s website.
