Apple’s internal documents describe iOS 18 as an “ambitious and intriguing” project. The company wants to redesign the interface, increase its speed, add new security options and make significant functional changes. In particular, functions based on Apple’s proprietary generative artificial intelligence are expected to emerge.
Gurman did not reveal details about Apple’s upcoming operating system, but emphasized that it should be the biggest iOS update since 2020. Then iOS 14 was released, the main feature of which is the appearance of widgets like on Android.
“Apple faces a tough software challenge in 2024. After several years of minor iOS updates, the next version of the iPhone and iPad operating system could be somewhat revolutionary,” Gurman wrote.
