Apple has started sending out a notification to authorized service center employees that a future watchOS update will fix the issue some users are experiencing with the Apple Watch dying quickly. In this respect reports MacRumor’s publication.

The problem of fast running out of watches for some users appeared after installing watchOS 10.1, which was released at the end of October 2023. According to MacRumors, the bug has affected owners of many wearable electronics models, from the Apple Watch Series 5 to the latest Apple Watch Ultra 2.

In some cases, the battery is discharged literally before our eyes. For example, an X (Twitter) user named Martin Cooper wrote that after updating to watchOS 10.1, his watch went from 100% to 50% in less than an hour.

It is not known exactly when the fix will be released. However, Apple wrote in its letter to service center experts that this will happen “soon”. MacRumors does not rule out that the “improved” watchOS 10.2 update, currently in beta testing, will be released only in December. However, it is possible for Apple to release a “fix” in the form of watchOS 10.1.1. Any day now.
