In their videos, bloggers unboxed the new product and compared it with the original model. Dave2D and Linus Tech Tips compared both the appearance and contents of different PlayStation 5s.
Comparing the external parts of the devices, bloggers noted that the PlayStation 5 Slim is noticeably lighter and smaller than the original console. They also noticed minor changes in design and construction. For example, the disk drive became removable. It can be connected and disconnected without any tools. Separately, bloggers noted the need to connect to the Internet when turning on the set-top box for the first time after connecting the drive.
Bloggers who disassembled the PlayStation 5 Slim drew attention to the changes in the cooling system and the new design of the motherboard. Both innovations affected the console’s heat dissipation: Dave2D found that the Slim version got slightly warmer than the base PlayStation 5 of the latest revision. But the difference is not critical.
