Vivo has become the third major Chinese smartphone player to develop its own alternative to Android. In this respect reports ITHome publication.
Vivo’s new project is called Blue River, and the operating system is called BlueOS. ITHome writes that BlueOS is the first operating system written in the Rust programming language.
The BlueOS operating system is intended not only for smartphones but also for various smart devices. To run this operating system, the gadget needs a processor with a frequency of 200 MHz and 32 MB of RAM.
BlueOS has many functions based on artificial intelligence. Thus, it supports the recognition of sounds, speech, images, text, videos, gestures and even brain waves.
It has not been reported which devices will be the first to receive BlueOS and when this will happen.
As mentioned above, Vivo is the third Chinese vendor to introduce its own mobile operating system. Similar developments were previously offered by Huawei and Xiaomi.
