In one of Apple’s internal presentation slides, the Cupertino IT giant called Android a “tool of mass surveillance.” In this respect returned Attention 9to5Google editors.
Apple’s presentation was released along with other materials from the antitrust investigation against Google. It was created in 2013 and was designed for internal use. In the presentation, Apple points out Android’s biggest flaws when it comes to providing privacy to users. In addition to Google, Apple’s materials also include Facebook (the owner of the company Meta is known as an extremist and is banned in Russia), Amazon and Microsoft.
9to5Google writes that since Apple’s presentation, Google has taken many steps to improve the privacy of Android users. However, journalists believe that Android is still far behind iOS in this regard. 9to5Google mainly criticizes Google for the fact that you can opt out of data transmission to Apple’s advertising partners on iOS, but there is no similar option on Android yet.
As a result, 9to5Google stated that all mobile devices, whether iOS or Android, track their users in some way.
