The first results of testing the 16-inch MacBook Pro with Apple M3 Max processor in the Geekbench 6 benchmark have appeared online. reports MacRumor’s publication.
Apple M3 Max is manufactured using three-nanometer process technology and has 16 computing cores and 40 graphics cores. In Geekbench 6 in multi-core mode, the chip scored 21,084 points. This result is comparable to the performance of Apple computers with the M2 Ultra processor, the company’s currently most powerful chip (21,182 points for the Mac Pro and 21,316 points for the Mac Studio), MacRumors writes.
Thus, M3 Max takes second place in the ranking of the most efficient Apple processors. Rounding out the top three was the M2 Max, which scored 14,495 points in Geekbench 6 multi-core testing mode. It turns out that the M3 Max is about 45% more powerful than the M2 Max, which matches Apple’s claim.
Next in the processor rankings is the M1 Max with 12,185 points and the “eliminated” M3 with 11,836 points.
New MacBook Pro models are now available for pre-order. Almost all configurations will appear at retail on November 7. The exception to this will be the model with the M3 Max processor, which will start shipping later.
