Pavel Durov, the creator of the social network VKontakte and Telegram, announced that channels in the messenger were blocked with calls for violence. It’s about Durov stated On the Russian Telegram channel.
“Channels calling for violence (like in the screenshot above) will be blocked because they violate the rules of Telegram, Google, Apple and the entire civilized world,” Durov wrote.
In the screenshot added by Telegram’s founder to his post, a post from the Sabah Dagestan channel can be seen. In the post, the author of the channel calls on residents of the republic to make it clear to visiting Jews that their “ass will be torn apart.”
At the same time, Durov published a picture in which he was depicted with a beard and extending his index finger upwards in the image of a Muslim.
The caption for this photo reads, “Persecution of people because of nationality or religion is unacceptable.”
Telegram is a popular instant messaging tool available on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and the web. At the end of August 2023, the service had more than 800 million monthly active users.
