In 2024, doctors and teachers will receive the first batch of tablet computers with Russian operating systems. In this respect reports RIA Novosti reports the interview with the Minister of Digital Development of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadayev on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.
“We are currently discussing the sources of financing for this program, looking at pilot tablet samples, analyzing how the Russian operating system will work on them. “I think we will do some kind of pilot study on 24 and then start replicating them all,” the minister shared.
The volumes of the first batch of devices were not specified.
According to Shadayev, the only way to develop Russian tablet production is through large government orders. The head of the Ministry of Digital Development admitted that tablets are a field of microelectronics in which Russia is “sagging”. It is difficult for Russian sellers to compete with Chinese companies that produce efficient, technologically advanced and inexpensive products.
Previously at the Ministry of Digital Development reported about doubling the share of domestic IT product manufacturers.
