A wet smartphone cannot be turned on for at least a day after being removed from water, because not all the liquid that got into it will evaporate from the device in a shorter time. In this respect reports RIA Novosti cited the words of the head of the telephone department of the MTS retail network Natalya Golitsyna.

Also, according to the expert, after removing the device from the water, you need to immediately turn it off, then remove the case and wipe the case with a soft cloth. If possible, remove the battery, SIM card and memory card from the smartphone. You can try sucking drops of water from the connectors and cutouts of the speakers with a cotton swab.

Golitsyna claims that only expensive flagship devices have good moisture protection. But according to him, even if they are not 100% protected from problems, water can penetrate small gaps and lead to malfunctions in the future.

“With the onset of autumn, the number of calls to service centers due to moisture ingress into smartphones also increases. Water entering a smartphone can lead to corrosion and subsequent failure of important components, so a lightning-fast reaction is needed to save your device,” said Golitsyna.

The MTS representative emphasized that the best scenario for recovering the device after it got wet is to immediately contact a service center.
