Five Ubisoft game developers arrested for sexual harassment in France

French police have detained five former executives of game publisher Ubisoft in connection with sexual harassment in the workplace. In this respect reports Liberation pressure.

The company’s former chief creative officer Serge Escoet and vice president Tommy Francois were arrested. The names of the remaining people are not disclosed, but it is claimed that these people are also senior executives of Ubisoft.

Liberation writes that the arrests took place as part of a sexual harassment investigation at Ubisoft that began in 2020. Immediately after the issue was widely publicized in the media, Escoet and Francois were fired from the company.

There are few new details about the investigation. Maud Beckers, a lawyer for one of the plaintiffs, told reporters that the case “reveals the problem of systemic sexual abuse” at Ubisoft.

At the time the news was published, Ubisoft had not made any comments regarding the detention of its former senior employees.
