At the session “Artificial Intelligence Journey: A Journey into the World of Artificial Intelligence” at the VIII Eastern Economic Forum, experts from Sberbank, AIRI, SberMedII and Skoltech talked about how artificial intelligence (AI) solves the most important problems of sustainable development and saving human lives.
To provide timely assistance to stroke patients, Sber has developed a comprehensive solution “Udar”, which is being piloted in the Primorsky Territory and is being prepared for launch in the Novosibirsk region. The system helps neurologists accompany patients with suspected acute cerebrovascular accidents. Using artificial intelligence-based services, specialists perform differential diagnoses, determine indications for hospitalization, and also select the institution to which the patient will be delivered.
Oleg Artyugin, Head of Sberbank Artificial Intelligence Technology Development Center for the Benefit of Society, explained how machine vision is used in wildlife identification tasks to preserve the planet’s biodiversity. The AI model can reduce image processing time by more than 20 times and improve the quality of monitoring populations of rare and endangered animal species.
Evgeniy Burnaev, Head of the Skoltech Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence, leading researcher at the AIRI Institute, explained how applied artificial intelligence helps sustainable development. He emphasized that global climate change caused by anthropogenic factors requires an energy transition.
