Speaking to participants at the eighth annual Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), Special Presidential Representative for Digital and Technological Development Dmitry Peskov compared aerial drones to drones. In this respect reports RBC.

Peskov made this analogy when discussing the problem of the lack of “correct names” for technologies. According to him, people are now “struggling” with the definition of drones because they are often referred to as “some vague” UAS (unmanned aerial vehicle systems) and UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).

“Our approach is this: We believe that the power of language lies in its ability to absorb the hostile meanings of other languages. Therefore, in Russian there is a beautiful word “drone”, you know, almost the same as the word dry, but only flying,” Peskov noted.

In addition, Peskov, the President’s Special Representative for Digital and Technological Development, said that “drones” have already replaced cavalry in military matters.

The Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) is an international forum held annually in Vladivostok with the aim of promoting foreign investment in the Russian Far East and developing economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. EEF will be held on the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) campus between 10-13 September in 2023.

Previously the company “GLONASS” announced Satellite tracker for tracking aircraft drones.
