In June 2023, Russians over the age of 12 spent an average of 3 hours and 56 minutes on the Internet every day. In this respect informs The Sostav publication cites data from the analytical company Mediascope.
According to Mediascope data, 83% of the population in Russia uses the internet in the first half of 2023. In the younger age group (12-24 years), this figure is close to 100%. Teens and young adults also spend more time online, on average about six hours a day.
Smartphones and tablets remain the most popular devices for accessing the internet, accounting for 93% of sessions. More than half (55%) of Russians connect to the Internet from a computer at least once a month, and about a third (31%) use a computer every day. The largest share of desktop users is seen in the elderly age groups: 45-54 years old, 55-64 years old, 65 years old and over.
Russians spend an average of 60 minutes a day on social networks. In the 12-24 age group, TikTok leads in popularity, in the 25-44 age group – VKontakte, in the 55 and older group – Odnoklassniki.
