Every year in the fall, the American company Apple holds its main presentation, which shows new items: smart watches, computers, headphones and tablets. However, the highlight of the program has always been the new iPhone models. This year’s event, which is said to take place on September 12, will feature four models of the iPhone 15: Standard, Plus, Pro and Pro Max, some people call it the iPhone 15 Ultra.
The new items will be equipped with 6.1- and 6.7-inch diagonal OLED displays, depending on the model, flagship hardware, larger batteries, new cameras and USB-C connectors.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to be the most expensive smartphone in the company’s history. It will receive a titanium case and a periscope camera, with which you can take photos and videos with an unprecedented approach to Apple gadgets.
What does the iPhone 15 look like
Significant changes in the design of new products are not expected. The base iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will look similar to last year’s version with a few improvements. First of all, these models equip Dynamic Island segment used only in Pro versions in 2022. So the front of all iPhone 15s will be made in the same style.
Second, Apple finally to reject From the proprietary Lightning connector to USB-C across the entire series. The company did this most likely because of a law passed in the EU that bans the sale of devices that cannot be charged via the USB-C port from December 2024. This solution was enthusiastically received in the network: the connector is already used in almost all modern devices, which will facilitate compatibility with accessories and chargers.
It is too early to rejoice at such a change. Rumor has it that Apple will force users to purchase branded or certified cables in order to transfer data to a computer at maximum speed and for fast charging to work.
The bezels of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are expected to shrink from 2.2mm to 1.5mm, making them the thinnest on the market. The new items will also feature a more durable titanium case, and a programmable action button similar to the one used on the Apple Watch Ultra will appear instead of the volume mode switch.
Memory, camera, charger
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will be powered by the 4nm Apple A16 Bionic chip found in last year’s iPhone 14 Pro. The flagship iPhone 15 Pro will receive More powerful A17 Bionic to be manufactured using 3 nanometer process technology. This will increase the speed of devices by 10% and reduce power consumption by 35%. At the same time, the amount of RAM will remain the same and will be 6 GB for all modifications.
Increasing batteries will also have a positive effect on the usage time of the devices. The capacity of the iPhone 15 will increase from 3279 to 3877 mAh, and the 15 Plus will increase from 4325 to 4912 mAh. The battery capacity will increase from 3200 mAh to 3650 mAh in the iPhone 15 Pro, and from 4323 to 4852 mAh in the 15 Pro Max.
The iPhone 15 Pro will be the company’s first smartphone to support Wi-Fi 6E, which provides more bandwidth, faster connectivity, and lower latency than Wi-Fi 6.
One of the key features of the iPhone 15 will be the cameras. Rumors have it that all models will immediately be equipped with a 48-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, while the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will also be equipped with a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with optical zoom. At the same time, the iPhone 15 Pro will get three times zoom, while the Pro Max will get six times zoom with the periscope lens. This allows you to take better photos from a distance.
In addition, USB-C version 2.0 will be included in the basis of the iPhone 15, and the charging and data transfer speeds will not change in these models. The flagship iPhone 15 Pro will offer modern USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3, allowing file transfer at speeds of up to 20 or 40 Gb/s respectively, and charging speeds of up to 35W against 27W on the iPhone 14 Pro.
iPhone 15 price and release date in Russia
Cost of some iPhone 15 models as expected rise. The price of the base version and the iPhone 15 Plus will remain the same, i.e. $799 and $899, while the iPhone 15 Pro will ask for $1099 and the Pro Max will ask for $1199 or $1299. Thus, the price of flagship versions will increase by $ 100 to $ 200. The increase in price will be justified by more expensive case materials, rejection of the first 128 GB version and more powerful hardware.
Representatives of major Russian retail chains interviewed by socialbites.ca are not yet ready to comment on the potential price and timing of the appearance of Apple gadgets in Russia – reliable information will appear after the presentation.
However, Eldar Murtazin, one of the leading analysts of the Mobile Research Group, in an interview with socialbites.ca explained the possible cost of smartphones in the Russian Federation:
“The price will be very high. Professional models in the basic version will cost 150 thousand rubles. The regular iPhone 15 is not particularly interesting to anyone. They will still look at the iPhone 15 Pro models. So there is a demand for them, there is an audience ready to buy them.”
Alexander Demyanov, director of the online electronics store GiX.Ru, agrees with Murtazin. According to him, the first batch of new Apple smartphones will appear in Russia within a week after the start of global sales.
“In a week, small batches will appear, and in two weeks all major stores will sell the iPhone 15 in Russia. But the price of new products depends on many factors. These are the dollar rate, logistics and consumer demand. It can be assumed that the cost of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the oldest model in the series so far, in the basic modification will be at least 140 thousand rubles,” Demyanov thinks.
According to insider and journalist Bloomberg Mark Gurman, the iPhone 15 smartphone series will be introduced on September 12. In the United States, pre-orders for new products will begin to be accepted within three days and will be available for free on September 22.
Experts believe that you can expect the new iPhone 15 to arrive in Russia at the end of September or in the first days of October.
