In anticipation of the presentation of the iPhone 15, Apple decided to cut the production schedule of new smartphones for 2023. In this respect informs 9To5Mac quotes Jeff Pu, analyst at Haitong International Securities.

Apple originally planned to release 83 million iPhone 15s in 2023, but current plans are limited to 77 million units. According to Pu, Apple recently informed its investors about this change.

An analyst at Haitong International Securities believes there are two reasons for the decline in the production schedule. The first is the issue of providing components for the new iPhone. Notably, Apple lacks Sony’s new sensors, titanium bezels, and screens with thinner bezels.

The second reason is the falling demand for expensive smartphones. Pu said without giving details, Apple made changes to its plans due to some “demand issues”.

The iPhone 15 is expected to be announced in September 2023. The launch of the devices can take place at the end of the same month or at the beginning of October.

Foxconn, formerly a key partner of Apple, launched iPhone 15 production in India.
