Microsoft has announced that it has launched a new penalty system for players in the Xbox ecosystem that provides eight levels of violations and sanctions. In this respect informs Border.
On the new system, a player who violates the Xbox Community Standards will receive the first warning. Each new report about the account approved by moderators or an automated system increases the violation level by at least one level. Depending on the severity of the violation, a player may receive one to three warnings at a time. For example, the player will receive three warnings for inciting hatred and one for obscene language.
Each level of violation corresponds to a specific sanction – from blocking the account for one day for two violations to blocking the account for one year for eight violations. Blocking means restricting access to messaging, multiplayer, and other social features in the Xbox ecosystem. Alerts are collected for six months and then canceled. Players will be able to see all the information about the warnings they received and the reason for their issue on their profile.
The new app system is part of Xbox’s overall initiative to reduce abuse and toxicity on the platform. In 2019, Xbox updated its Community Standards to define unacceptable behavior. Last year, Xbox released its first report on measures taken to moderate content.
Previously recognizedPlayStation 5 owners will be allowed to play without downloading the game.
