Journalists of tech publications complained that SanDisk’s external SSDs were largely failing. This was also reported by a journalist Border Vieran Pavic and Jeremy Gray from Portal petapixel.
Pavic said he lost 3TB of data due to SanDisk Extreme Pro drive failure. The drive was brand new, replaced the old one, it also failed, got angry.
SanDisk’s own company, Western Digital, released firmware updates for the drives, but that didn’t fix the crashing issue.
Gray said his SanDisk Pro-G40, which he bought a month ago, started crashing while running the DaVinci Resolve video editor. According to him, the problem disappeared only after removing the external SSD from the computer.
At the same time, journalists pointed out that SanDisk portable drives are now available with discounts of up to 70%. Pavic concluded that the lack of an official comment from Western Digital only exacerbated the situation.
former experts reportedThat the price of SSD drives will drop sharply.
