Bill Gates, the American billionaire, co-founder of Microsoft, said that artificial intelligence has flaws that could potentially threaten humanity. He wrote about how to minimize such risks in a personal blog. Gates Notes.

“The future of artificial intelligence is not as bleak as some think, but it certainly is not that bright. Although I am optimistic, the risks are real because I believe they can be managed,” said the businessman.

According to Gates, AI critics fear it will prevent students from working independently on essays, letters, and other assignments.

“Teachers will have to acknowledge that AI technology is just another tool that students have access to. Just as we once taught students how to search properly on Google, teachers should develop clear lessons on how the ChatGPT bot can help with composition,” the confident billionaire said.

The entrepreneur believes these concerns are similar to the situation in the 1970s, when they called for a ban on the calculator.

“I remember when electronic calculators first came out, some math teachers feared that students would stop doing basic arithmetic,” he said.

Gates also acknowledged that AI is likely to replace some jobs and that employees will need additional support and retraining in their areas of expertise.

“This retraining role belongs to governments and businesses, and they need to manage the transition well so that workers don’t get left behind,” he added.

At the same time, Gates made sure that he did not see the same risks in AI as during the industrial revolution that many people rushed to factories and businesses.

“However, the impact of artificial intelligence will be as significant as the advent of the PC. Word-processing applications have not eliminated office work, but changed it forever,” the billionaire concluded.
