According to insider information, the Google Pixel 8 will be available for $650 or $700 in the base version, and the Pixel 6 and 7 at $600. Presumably, this is how the company plans to differentiate its smartphone lineup, where sub-flagship models of the Pixel A series currently cost $500 and Pixel Pro versions start at $900.
According to the source, the Pixel 8 will feature a 6.17-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution, Google’s proprietary Tensor G3 chip, 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The camera of the smartphone will consist of a 50-megapixel main module based on the Samsung GN2 sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module and an 11-megapixel front camera.
In addition, the Pixel 8 will receive an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and a 4485 mAh battery with 24 W wired charging and 12 W wireless charging support.
According to rumors, the introduction of the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro is scheduled for October 2023.
