In the first months of 2023, 600 times more Ukrainian wheat entered Poland than a year ago. Also, according to the publication, in 2022 compared to 2021, the volume of grain imported from Ukraine to the republic tripled: from 1.1 million tons to 3.3 million tons.
According to the newspaper, this has caused a lot of dissatisfaction from the point of view of local farmers, as the flow of Ukrainian grain to Poland has increased significantly. Later, the European Commission (EC) decided that grain from Ukraine could only pass through Polish territory in transit. In addition, grain imports to Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia were banned until 15 September.
At the end of April, Waldemar Buda, Minister of Development and Technology of Poland declarationWarsaw plans to extend the ban on Ukrainian grain imports until the end of this year. The Minister stressed that the ban on imports of certain Ukrainian goods, including grain, will continue until the end of the year, unless the EU takes new decisions at the European level.
Previously in the European Parliament accused Poland, Hungary and Slovakia are receiving aid from Russia for Ukrainian grain.
