Employees at IT company Microsoft taunted CEO Satya Nadella after thanking them for a “significant fiscal year” in the mass layoffs. It has been reported business insider with reference to corporate chats.

Nadella posted her speech on the company’s internal social network. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who works hard at the company. “The innovation and creativity you continue to demonstrate has made this year a milestone for Microsoft.”

According to the publication, about 200,000 people saw Nadella’s message, and the vast majority of them responded positively to the Microsoft president’s statement.

But out of 130 people who left reviews, only half were positive. “A good way to express gratitude is to freeze the pay raise,” one employee wrote in a post that was voted on by more than 250 people.

In another post, where more than 100 people voted, “While our company and management are making record profits, employees are taking pay cuts. That’s wrong, there’s no way to look at it any other way.”

Another user complained that he could not get a wage increase even though he worked 14-16 hours a day. “Where does the record profit come from? Personally, I don’t feel privileged to work here,” he wrote.

In 2023, Microsoft plans to lay off 10,000 employees, suspend salary increases for workers, and cut bonuses and stocks.

Former Microsoft employees complained management’s refusal to increase salaries.
