Women interviewed for a job at Bill Gates’ personal office, Gates Ventures, were asked sexually explicit questions to get dirt on them. In this respect informs Edition of The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources.
Candidates were asked personal questions that often had nothing to do with their professional skills. Women were specifically asked about extramarital sex, their favorite types of porn, having nude photos on a smartphone, sexually transmitted diseases, drugs and more.
WSJ sources explained that the unusual interviews were conducted to gather conciliatory information about those auditioning for positions involving direct contact with Gates. Compromising evidence was gathered in a way that could be used to blackmail employees in the future.
Gates Ventures noted that they were not aware of such interviews. The company also stressed that they are not directly responsible for hiring employees – this is done by a third-party consulting firm, Concentric Advisors. Concentric Advisors said their protocol did not violate applicable US law.
