The American company Microsoft has added a new access key standard that will make it possible to log into the Windows 11 operating system without using a password. It has been reported Border.

This feature first appeared in the latest OS Insider Preview build (23486). With an update to the Windows Hello authorization app, we added support for authentication using a PIN, fingerprint or face scan.

The function will work not only with authorization in the operating system, but also with applications and websites that support Windows Hello. In Edge and Chrome browsers, the option to log in with a passkey is located in the “Windows Hello or Foreign Security Key” section.

Microsoft announced that the access key is created in the system settings. After that, the operating system will log out of the account and ask you to log in with a new security method. Registered access keys can be managed by going to “Accounts” and then “Access Keys” in Windows Settings.

According to The Verge, adding a new feature to Windows Hello should make it easier for users to manage their credentials within Windows 11.

Older OS users from Microsoft talked about the development Windows versions to work without a PC.
