If water gets on your smartphone at the beach, heating the device using resource-intensive programs will help the liquid evaporate. Kirill Sitnov, a teacher and specialist in hardware and gadgets at the Moscow School of Programmers (MSP), shared this life hack in an interview with socialbites.ca.

“When water enters the smartphone, you must immediately open all exit routes for it. At least remove the SIM card tray, as modern smartphones cannot remove the battery and the back panel cannot be removed. Next, you need to run a program like AnTuTu Benchmark or 3DMark that warms your chip to the max. So most of the liquid can evaporate from your device, ”advised the expert.

He also did not recommend using external heating devices to dry the smartphone, since evaporating moisture would require more heat, which would adversely affect the battery and other components. To protect yourself from the humidity of the river or sea, you can use special covers that resemble waterproof bags with zippers in their design.

“If sand gets into the smartphone, you can use the built-in function (on iOS, in the Water Extraction utility) or download a special application to clean the speaker from water. “When this function is started, the smartphone will start making strong rhythmic beeps and you will have to make shaking movements.”

If grains of sand are stuck in the connectors, you can gently clean them with a toothpick. But the specialist, in no case should you use metal rods for this, as you can accidentally close the contacts or damage them. You should not make any effort while cleaning from the sand, you should remove the gerbils with soft sweeping movements.

“If it does not work, it is better to contact the service, so as not to aggravate the situation by breaking the connector,” Sitnov concluded.

Previously Specialist Kuzmenko warned Russians from cooling their smartphones with a refrigerator.
