State Duma proposes to simplify providers’ access to apartment buildings

The State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information and Communications of the Russian Federation recommended at its first reading a bill to simplify the access of providers to communication infrastructure in apartment buildings (MKD). It was reported on the newspaper’s website “News”.

The publication states that the bill should simplify the placement of communication networks in communal properties in apartment buildings. Thus, access to housing will become free for provider companies. They will only have to pay for electricity, and only under an agreement with a resident, even if he is a tenant.

The edition emphasizes that the representatives of the company-providers it questioned also supported a similar initiative.

The newspaper states that the bill will be discussed on June 27.
