Scammers are deceiving Russian buyers of Apple technology by misnaming their products. This was reported by tech bloggers on the portal “Executioner”.
“If you’re not inside the Apple ecosystem, it’s easy to confuse AirPods Max with AirPods Premium and iPhone 13 Pro Max with iPhone 13 Ultra. Our advice – before buying, go to the American version of the Apple website and check the names of the gadgets, ”said the bloggers.
The authors’ second way, called checking the configuration of devices. Counterfeit items may have non-original equipment or poor workmanship.
“For example, the factory film on the glass of the ‘new iPhone’ may be stuck in a crooked way, the headset tray is much smaller than the box and has unnecessary writing on it,” the bloggers wrote.
The third and most obvious way to identify fake iPhone smartphones and AirPods wireless headphones is what bloggers call low-priced gadgets.
“For example, the iPhone 13 Pro Max cannot cost 9 thousand rubles, even if the phone is sold for spare parts. The current price of the model is 93,890 rubles. Or AirPods Max, for which the impudent seller wants 10 thousand, at a current cost of 47 thousand rubles, the headset can cost a maximum of 30-40 thousand, ”said the author.
In March, Izvestia newspaper wrote in its Telegram report: Scam channels exposedoffers Russians to buy Apple devices at a discounted price. Criminals sold the devices for about 10 times their original cost.
