Sony is currently developing six new devices under the PlayStation brand. In this respect knowledgeable insider and Insider Gaming journalist Tom Henderson.
The codename of the first device is Project Leonardo. According to an insider, it is a special controller for people with disabilities. Project Leonardo will be released in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Henderson went on to explain the new console. It will be called the PlayStation 5 Slim and will differ from the original form factor by the presence of a removable drive. An insider expects Sony to unveil the new product in May 2023 as part of the PlayStation Showcase event. The novelty should go on sale in September 2023.
Also, according to Henderson, Sony is developing a new pair of headphones codenamed Project Nomad and Project Voyager. Nomad are full TWS earphones with charging case, while Voyager is a new full size Bluetooth earphone. The launch of the new products is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.
However, the Japanese company is working on a portable game console codenamed Q Lite. Unlike the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita, the new device was designed to be cloud-based rather than offline play. Simply put, you cannot install games on Q Lite. The release is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023.
The flagship of the new device series will be PlayStation 5 Pro. According to an insider source, Sony will start sending prototypes of the new console to developers in the coming months. The launch of the device is scheduled for the end of 2024.
