Apple and Google have announced the joint development of a new security standard, such as AirTag, to help fight spying on trackers. In this respect says on the official Apple website.
The new security standard will apply to devices such as AirTag, Galaxy SmartTag and more. Companies backing the initiative include Samsung, Tile, Chipolo, Eufy Security and Pebblebee. The standard is planned to be developed and integrated into iOS and Android by the end of 2023.
Currently, iPhone smartphones report the presence of foreign AirTags nearby, and for Android, Apple has released a special application that detects AirTags in the user’s environment.
Smart trackers have been used repeatedly to illegally spy on people. Online cases have emerged of stalkers hiding tracers in victims’ bags or cars.
