The smartphone Google Pixel 7a could be the last gadget in the mid-budget price segment from “good company”. Portal reports Gizmochina citing the words of famous insider Yogesh Brar.
Google Pixel 7a is the successor to Pixel 6a, which has become a real hit among budget smartphones around the world. However, according to Brar, Google intends to abandon the A-series.
“Series A of Pixel smartphones seems to be coming to an end. Considering the Pixel 7a’s specs and price hike, the Pixel 8a will definitely not see the light of day.” Previously Pixel 7a was estimated to cost 702 CAD, while the flagship Pixel 7’s starting price was 779 CAD. The reason why there is so little difference between smartphones in different price categories is the use of the latest Tensor chip in the Pixel 7a and a screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate.
According to Brar, Google will only focus on launching foldable smartphones alongside flagship models. The Pixel 7a is expected to be unveiled at a special Google event on May 10.
