Group-IB decides to leave Russia

Group-IB, an information security company founded by businessman Ilya Sachkov, announced that the Russian portion of the business has been sold to local shareholders. This was reported to socialbites.ca in the press service of the company.

The Russian part of Group-IB will continue to operate in the Russian Federation under the name FAC.С.T. (Combating Cybercrime Technologies). The new company will refuse to use the old brand before the end of this year. At the same time, the Group-IB brand will continue to be used in the international market by the parent company registered in Singapore.

“As part of further business diversification, the Russian assets of Group-IB, one of the leading international cybersecurity companies, were acquired by local shareholders and senior management. Business development will continue under a new brand, FAC.CT. In the statement made by the company, it was stated that Group-IB will only be represented in the international market from now on.

Headed by FAC.CT Valery Baulin. He also previously served as the head of Group-IB’s Russia division. He assured that the restructuring would not affect the security of customers served by the Russian part of Group-IB.
