Apple competitors will not be able to open outlets and display banners advertising their products near the first Indian Apple Store in Mumbai. In this respect informs The publication 9To5Mac cites the investigation by Indian journalists from the Economic Times.
Reporters learned that Apple received “exclusive zone” status for the shopping center where its store is located. It allowed Apple to specify 22 brands in the lease that should not be doing business near the Apple Store.
The list includes almost all brands whose products compete with Apple products in one way or another. We’re talking about Google, Microsoft, LG, Sony, Bose and more. Even Twitter fell out of favor with Apple, which did not directly coincide with the Cupertino company.
9To5Mac believes Apple has decided to stay away from Twitter just in case. Allegedly, the company fears Elon Musk’s unpredictable behavior that has the potential to damage Apple’s image.
The Economic Times writes that the Mumbai store is probably not unique in terms of exclusivity. Journalists suggest that the next Indian Apple Store in Delhi will also be fenced off from competitors.
