Kommersant: Russian company Yadro will develop its own mobile operating system based on Android

Yadro has started developing a new native operating system (OS) for Kvadra consumer mobile devices. In this respect informs The publication “Kommersant”, which refers to vacancies that Yadro posted on the hh.ru website.

It was noted that the company is looking for leading programmers, software engineers and managers to develop the mobile ecosystem. According to the job description, they will have to develop a mobile operating system for some Kvadra mobile devices.

Kvadra is the brand under which Yadro has produced only PCs in monoblock and classic system blocks formats. However, it is stated on the brand’s website that an 11-inch tablet PC will be introduced soon.

As Kommersant wrote, the future tablet is most likely the Yadro Kvadra T40 device, which was on the Geekbench benchmark list in October 2022. Then, it was learned that the sample tested was running on an unnamed 8-core processor running Android 12.

Kommersant writes that Yadro’s new operating system will be similar to Android. But the publication doubts that the Google Play app store and other Google services will be integrated into the Russian operating system.
